With their potent new single “Never Back Down,” award-winning, hard-hitting Active Rock quintet NO RESOLVE have created a song that’s an ideal musical and lyrical anthem for the 2020 pandemic. At the same time, the song serves as motivation for anyone struggling with hard times. As frontman Oscar Pegorraro sings, “When I’m feeling / Broken and beaten / I got a fire in my soul / The fear’s taking hold / But I’m taking control / Of my own life / I’ll never back down.”

NO RESOLVE recently signed a multi-album deal with the new Noise Machine label, with “Never Back Down” as the band’s first release. While the lineup’s beyond-impressive, and self-achieved success (including more than 15 million streams of their 2012 single, “Get Me Out”) caught the label’s attention, the Michigan-bred band knows that it all starts with the music. “Everything boils down to the song, always. Lyrically, ‘Never Back Down’ spoke to everyone, even in different situations; it's really an uplifting song,” explains Pegorraro. “I think that that's just what the world needs right now.” Noise Machine heard an early demo of the track, and agreed.

Once social distancing rules were slightly relaxed, the label sent NO RESOLVE into the studio to record the track; still using health precautions. “We’re really excited to be part of the Noise Machine family; the Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling producers who helped start and develop the career of I Prevail - B.J. Perry and John Pregler - we couldn’t have asked to be working with a better team. We’re already doing songs with features, a Lewis Capaldi cover with others artists in the label group. There are so many new creative opportunities for us, especially with touring shut down now.”

Also in the band’s big 2020 news is a new member: powerhouse drummer Rich Beddoe, formerly of Finger Eleven and Saint Asonia. Clearly, the last couple years have seen huge musical and personal growth for NO RESOLVE. “You know, it's a new band with Rich, and our game has been upped in every way, even our vibe and look,” Perrargo observes. “It’s still us, but definitely a change. I feel that we've gone somewhat more modern, while still casting a wider net for bigger sounds.”

NO RESOLVE is living proof of the personal power espoused in “Never Back Down.” 2020 has not been any easy year for anyone, but the band has managed to add a new member, write a surefire hit with “Never Back Down” (along with an equally cool performance video) for what just may be the best single of their career.

...and that self-made career is already quite impressive. NO RESOLVE has racked up numerous accolades and rabid fans for their high-energy, deeply personal, thematic songs. Radio, from SiriusXM’s Octane (who had “Love Me To Death” in full rotation) to a number of terrestrial station supporters, who helped drive the 2018 singles “What You Deserve" up to more than 4.8 million Spotify streams, while "Love Me To Death” is currently at 2 million and climbing. Their fan base is growing rapidly, with over 100 million total streams, and over 270,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

The awards the band garnered only cemented what the fans already knew: NO RESOLVE is a force to be reckoned with. The band really kicked things into high gear with their 2012 single, “Get Me Out,” which the group’s home NHL team, the Detroit Red Wings, played during their playoff games. To date, “Get Me Out” has received over 15 million views on YouTube.

Then, after almost non-stop touring in support of their debut (they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Papa Roach, Hinder, Pop Evil, Sick Puppies, Buckcherry, and more) at the end of 2014, NO RESOLVE went into the studio with producer Shane Grush to create their first full-length album, Unity. The album, featuring “Love Me To Death” and “The Pusher,” co-written with Johnny Andrews, was recorded in Michigan and Tennessee and took 18 months to produce. Dropping in 2017, Unity debuted at #45 on the iTunes Rock chart and #10 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. It was also highlighted on Amazon’s Hot New Releases. Bryson Roatch, brother of Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, shot and directed the band’s first video single for one of the album’s most popular songs, “The Pusher.”

Two years later, the unstoppable lineup was at it again: “This Is War” from 2019’s  The Divide,  helmed by producers Martin Bak (The Tea Party) and John Pregler, earned even more accolades for the hard-working band. Now, a mere year later - and what a year - with the release of “Never Back Down” (a song so strong it pretty much convinced new drummer Beddoe to join NO RESOLVE), the band is starting a whole new chapter. The group, who writes as a band, has already worked Beddoe into that process, and, as Pegorraro says, “he’s a brother now.”

Known for heady topics, the band now has a wealth of new inspiration to draw on.  NO RESOLVE (who took their name from an unresolved chord at the end of a song, hence the song title and band name NO RESOLVE) clearly has excellent karma… and they’re getting the success and breaks they deserve—but really, it’s more than karma, it’s what they’ve worked so hard for and believed so strongly in. Sometimes the good guys DO win.
