“Darkness Before The Dawn” is the third single from Caleb’s upcoming debut album with Judge & Jury, set for release in fall of 2023. The Texas born artist has a YouTube channel that features his interpretations of songs from Broadway musicals, Disney and Anime amongst others. 

“It’s always darkest before the dawn,” says Caleb Hyles. “We’ve all heard this sentiment before. At its best, it is meant as encouragement. To keep moving forward, to press on. But what about when we’re in the darkness? Does this saying even matter? Is this just an empty promise? How do I march towards a promised dawn that I cannot see? This is an anthem for all those still in the darkness. Those shrouded in pain, fear, shame, confusion, struggle. We know that the dawn will come, but for now, let us not think about that. Let’s face what’s before us. Let’s embrace the change. Let’s face the demons. Let’s fight. Let’s carry on in the darkness before the dawn.”

Joining Caleb on the single is Lacey Sturm, the co-founder and lead vocalist of rock band Flyleaf. Howard Benson produced several albums for Flyleaf (Flyleaf, Memento Mori, New Horizons) in the mid-late 2000’s along with their 3 biggest songs “All Around Me,” “I’m So Sick,” and “Fully Alive” that were featured on their self-titled debut album. The band split in 2012, but in late 2022 the band announced  that they would perform a few shows together, shortly after the release of the single “Darkness Before The Dawn””.
