Loathe, the UK genre-blurring outfit who toe the line between heavy and ambient while incorporating shoegaze, prog metal, synths, and big breakdowns, have returned with their first track in three years: “Gifted Every Strength.” Unfolding over six minutes, the track is a devastating journey through hard-edged metal, euphoric psychedelia, and driving shoegaze tones, anchored by a rhythmic line that shifts and metamorphoses as the song progresses. 

In the years since their last full-length, 2020’s I Let It In and It Took Everything, Loathe have assumed a totemic status within the global heavy music landscape, opening massive tours with the likes of Korn, Knocked Loose, Glassjaw, and most recently joining Spiritbox on their ongoing ‘Tsunami Sea’ North American tour. A surprise, and quickly sold out Brooklyn headline show earlier this month marked the start of things to come.
