“Better Written Villain” is a song that underwent heavy rewrites in the studio but we’re incredibly happy with how it turned out. This song takes you on a journey through almost every element of our sound and I believe it’s a good representation of what you can expect from the album as a whole.
The chorus as well as the ending went through a bunch of revisions because Jimmy and I (this is Jack) couldn’t agree on a melody until the very last second…but, I think that’s what makes it one of if not my favorite songs on the record. A song that thematically was inspired by George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, specifically Napoleon.”
“The People Watching’ album is the culmination of the last 9 years of 156/SILENCE. From the very beginning of the band we set the goal to push ourselves and make sure no two records we put out ever sound the same. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created, this album has been a long time coming. Welcome to the new era of 156.”
